CFR CommitteeBehind every family reunion, there are people who devote their time and energy to help plan for a successful family reunion for those who attend. They are what makes up the committee!
The Charity Family Reunion happens every two years. People have helped with the planning of the family reunion through promoting the family reunion on the website and various platforms of social media, figuring out what the shirts will look like, what programs and events will take place, and most importantly what food and beverages will be served. The Charity Family Reunion 2017 Committee is proud to have put together a successful family reunion and thanks everyone who has volunteered their time and energy to make this one of the best Charity Family Reunions to remember. New Committee Officer for Charity Family Reunion 2019
For the next Charity Family Reunion in 2019, there is a new Chairperson, Kendra Richardson, who will be taking on the role from Jeremy Charity.
Kendra is excited to be planning the Charity Family Reunion 2019 that will follow the successful 2017 Charity Family Reunion and are looking forward to working with each other and along with others who will be a part of the committee to make yet again another successful Charity Family Reunion! Letter from the 2017 Charity Family Reunion Chairperson, Jeremy CharityDear Charity Family, It has been an honor and a privilege to be the Chair of the Charity Family Reunion for the past 6 years. I will thoroughly miss being able to have major influence over an event that creates memories for family members for years to come. I will miss being at a crab feast or reunion and family members who do not know me ask "where is Jeremy Charity" or "so YOU'RE Jeremy Charity" to be sought out and people want to speak to you and give kudos for your efforts for each event that you assist in orchestrating. I will miss the relationships that have been formed with members of the committee such as Pam (Chair, Treasurer), Bryce (Master of Ceremonies), and LaToya (webmaster) as most of my interaction with them has been regarding to the reunion, a fundraiser, or the family website. I have enjoyed meeting and keeping in touch with family members who either contacted me regarding the reunion or those who I met at the reunion. In 2013 it was April Abbott and family in addition to the Gastones, in 2015 it was Andrew Dias who lives a couple towns over from me and I have seen over probably 30 times since the 2015 reunion, and finally this years reunion where I will try and keep in contact with Traylin Gastone and Phyl Charity. I would be hard pressed to name ALL of the family members I've talked to, met, and interacted with over the last 6 years particularly as a result of being the Chair of this reunion. Special thanks also to Faith Nelson, Vandue Miles, Audrey Trimiew, Aaron Charity, Verna Turner, Kendra Richardson and her boyfriend and kids, LaToya Tyler, Nigel Parkinson, Jr., Yvette Charity Peterson, Theron Jones, Mia Charity, Brittany Washington, Hope Crawley, Shaundrea, Devona Miles, Cassandra Miles, Deborah Crew, Ashley & Nichole Charity, Ann Cotten, Katrina Tabb, Will Havens, Trey and Paris Turner, Andrew Dias, Al Hannon, Linda Threadgill, Darlene Giles, Harold Johnson, Uncle Cokie, Suzanne Barksdale, Sandy Lane, Barbara Charity, Gloria Charity, Colleen Hall, Evelyn Adkins, William Brown, Carroll Turner, Jamie Howard, Bea Banks, Bryce Harden, Jazzy Green, AND MANY OTHERS... As much anxiety as wondering if family members will buy into the ideas you put forth and the concept for a fundraiser or reunion that you've developed this has been a labor of love and has been a lot of fun. Good luck to the new Chair and Treasurer and you all have my support going forward promoting your events and I implore everyone to help Kendra and Nigel where you can as they will need as many family members support as they can get. Looking forward to 2019's CFR! Thank you, Jeremy Charity |
